Designing Web Interfaces
I haven’t had a chance to read this yet, but I’m going to go ahead and suggest you go get a copy of Bill Scott’s book, Designing Web Interfaces.
You should also watch this presentation, on which the book is likely based. I saw him give this talk at Google and then brought him in to CNET to give it again to our crowd.
Bill Scott was the lead user experience evangelist at Yahoo and is now at Netflix. He’s an interesting mix of good engineer and good experience designer and I’ve spoken with him on numerous occasions about various challenges and he always gives great insight.

I almost got that book, but ended up going with one called designing the obvious, which I’m really digging.
